Eikendal Cabernet Sauvignon

Excellent wine, excellent setting with passion – Eikendal Wine Estate

My last wine for 2017 is the Cabernet Sauvignon 2015. This was an exceptional year in Stellenbosch.

The Eikendal Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 received top honours with a  Double Gold status. Tim Atkin gave this wine 93/100 points in his recent 2107 South Africa Special Report. Platters also gave it a 4 ½ stars.

No stone was left unturned to create this quality! – Nico Grobler – Winemaker.

I had a very special day out in the vineyard with him a few months ago. Read more about it Here:

Please hashtag me #winewithelmarie when you try my wine recommendations.  I would love to hear from you and see what you are enjoying.

Tasting notes:

A lot of care, passion and long hours went into producing this exceptional estate classic. Nuances of cracked pepper, pencil shavings and a fresh meat character combined with firm day tannins, refreshing acidity and well-judged wood treatment. The wine is well balanced with a lingering savoury and red-fruited finish.

Pairing:

Enjoy with good food and company, or just on its own.
