After many red velvet cakes and none of them could satisfied me i found this one tweak it a little bit and wallah!! Moist and absolutely Delicious.
Ingredients
2 Cups flour
1 ts baking soda
1 ts Moir’s baking powder
1 ts salt
2 Tb cocoa
2 cups castor sugar
1 cup oil
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons Moir’s vanilla
1 bottle of red food coloring or 4 drops of red gel
1 ts white vinegar
1/2 cup hot coffee
Instructions
Pre heat the oven to 180c.
Whisk flour,baking soda, baking powder, cocoa and salt.
In another bowl whisk sugar and oil.
Mix in the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and red food coloring.
Stir in the coffee and vinegar.
Combine everything.
Pour into prepared cake tins and bake for 30-40 min.
Take care not to over bake!!
Notes
This cake isn’t one of those bright artificial looking red velvet cakes!
200g soften butter
400g icing sugar
250g cream cheese
5ml vanilla
Beat the icing sugar and butter and stir in the cream cheese
