The Best Red Velvet Cake

With my Red Velvet Cake recipe, you can enhance your dessert pleasure. This cake is a wonderful symphony of tastes with velvety layers of brilliant red that are tempered with just the right amount of cocoa. My Red velvet Cake guarantees a piece of pure delight that tantalises your taste buds and warms your hearts, whether for special occasions or just to indulge yourself.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups flour

  • 1 Cup Oil

  • 1 ts Baking Soda

  • 1 ts Baking Powder

  • 1 ts Salt

  • 2 Tb Cocoa

  • 2 Cups Sugar

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 Cup Buttermilk

  • 2 ts Vanilla

  • 4 drops of red food colouring

  • 1 ts White Vinegar

  • 1/2 Cup of hot coffee

  • Cream Cheese Topping
  • 200g Soft Butter

  • 400g Icing Sugar

  • 250g Cream Cheese

  • 1ts Vanilla Essence

Directions

  • Pre Heat the oven to 180 degrees
  • Sif Flour, Baking soda, Baking powder, Cocoa and Salt together.
  • In a separate bowl mix the Sugar and Oil together.
  • Mix the Eggs, Buttermilk, Vanilla and Red Food Colouring with the sugar mixture
  • Stir in the hot Coffee and Vinegar
  • Combine the Sugar Mixture with the Flour mixture
  • Bake for 30 – 40 Minutes. (Do not over bake)
  • Cream Cheese Topping
  • Beat the butter and icing sugar well in a mixing bowl.
  • Stir in the cream cheese and vanilla.
  • Decorate each layer of the cake with the cream cheese frosting and decorate to taste
