This recipe is so versatile you can make them plain buttermilk a all time favorite or add some seeds for a healthier version.
1 Kg Self-raising flour
250 g sugar
125 g butter
1/2 cup oil
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup mixed seeds for the seed option i use sesame, sunflower,linseed and pumpkin seeds
Mix the flour and salt in a electric mixer.
Melt the butter and add the eggs,buttermilk,oil. ( add the seeds as well at this stage)
Mix everything together and press the dough into a pan and cut into rusks sizes i use a rusk cutter but you can use a ruler to help you cut into the right sizes.
Bake for 30 min at 180 c.
Dry the rusks for 3-4 hours at 110c
